Blowing through straws especially these crazy straws help to strengthen some of the muscles needed to speak.

You can blow leaves, cotton wool etc and you can blow bubbles in water (you could add in some fairy liquid and food colouring to a bowl of water if youโ€™re sure they wonโ€™t suck instead of blowing)

You can also do some blow painting and blow the paint drops through the straws to create wonderful pieces of Art.

Blowing bubbles is a brilliant activity for aiding speech development in children. Not only does it help to strengthen the muscles around the mouth it also helps children to form the correct shape with their lips and cheeks to produce sounds such as p, b, g and f.

Thereโ€™s is loads of ideas and lots of great fun to be had, let me know what ye get up to!!
